2 RUKUNGIRI MEN MURDER FELLOW IN POOL OF BLOOD OVER ALCOHOL

Police in Rukungiri have two suspects in custody in connection to the murder of a 49 year old man in Bwambara sub county Rukungiri district.
Kigezi Regional police spokesperson Elly Maate identified the deceased as Julius Ndyasiima alias Mpitsi a resident of Nyakatembe Village,Kikarara parish,Bwambara sub county, Rukungiri district.
It’s alleged that the deceased was last seen on the 25th December 2021 at around 1200hrs drinking alcohol with Akankwatsa Innocent and Nahabwe Boaz (now in cells) at Omukenkobe trading center.
During the course of drinking the group had a disagreement that was caused by the deceased refusing to share alcohol.
Maate said that as they were still exchanging words, they were separated by the patrolling UPDF officers who were enforcing curfew around 2100hrs. After the departure of the officers the three were again sighted in the center with Nahabwe Boaz armed with a sharp panga.
On the 26th December 2021 at around 0600hrs, the deceased’s body was found along the Mukenkobe Mukashenyi road in a pool of blood with multiple cuts on both feet a few metres from the home of Innocent Akankwatsa.
The scene of crime was visited by the DCID/O, CIO, SOCO and team. The body was taken to Rwakabengo health center III for post mortem.
Meanwhile two soiled shirts and a trouser were recovered from the house of Innocent which residents said Innocent wore on the fateful day.
Innocent was arrested alongside Boaz and the duo are still in police custody pending investigations.
