ONE NETTED OVER DEATH OF 2 HERDSMEN IN NTUNGAMO DISTRICT

Police in Ntungamo District are holding a man in connection to the death of two herdsmen.
The suspect has been identified by police as one Tashobya a resident of Kanoni village, Kasenyi parish,Ngoma Sub county
ASP Samson Kasasira told journalists in a press release that on the night of 30th.Dec.2021 at around 0300/c herdsmen of Charles Murenzi while at farm house sleeping were attacked by unknown people in Rwendahi village , Kayenje Parish , Rweikiniro sub county ,who set ablaze the grass thatched house they were sleeping in suffocating them to death.
ASP Kasasira said that one of the herdsmen one Nuwahereza escaped from the assailants and hid until morning when he reported to his boss who reported to police and a case of assault was registered at Rweikiniro police post.
Kasasira further identified the deceased as Irandukunda Emmanuel a Rwandese aged 22years and a Resident of Kayenje Parish , Rweikiniro sub county and Bagwiza David alias Boy aged 18 years a Resident of the same area.
The police PRO noted that police from Ntungamo visited the scene and it was discovered that herdsmen of Rweikiniro Sub County have been at logger heads with herdsmen of Ngoma Sub County over cattle crossing for pasture
Bodies of the deceased were examined at the scene and handed over to relatives for a decent burial,and community policing conducted in order to prevent further attacks on both parties.
