Joel Tumusiime Ssalongo alias Bwana Yoweri who has been working at Kinkizi FM for a short time has passed today morning

Bwana Yoweri worked with freedom and Peak radios in Kabale for many years before joining Kinkizi Fm recently.

“The deceased hosted a program but at the end he started bleeding through the nose which forced him to go home  for break and in the morning of today we were informed that Bwana Yoweri need to be taken to the hospital and he died before reaching to the hospital,” Glorious Amumpaire a colleague narrated to our reporter.

According to Kinkiizi FM station manager Chris Kareju, the deceased worked normally on Monday until the evening of the same day when he developed continuous blood vomiting.

“We gave him some first aid and he went home until this morning when we got information that vomiting had continue. We rushed him to the clinic where he passed on minutes later.

This reporter has been able to establish that Twinomugisha’s family confirmed having a trait of related illness attributed to liver problem.

The station manager however told this reporter that they were by press time going for a postmortem analysis before they transport his body to his ancestral home in Kabale District for burial.

In Mbarara—

The 21 billion shillings newly constructed Mbarara Central Market is finally ready for Commissioning after several setbacks.

The minister for local government Rapheal Magyez has confirmed that the market will be commissioned on 21^st March 2022 and the vendors currently operating at Independence Park will be given first priority.

While assessing the He pledged the Government will allocate funds to install a stand by generator at the market before its commissioned.

The minister further warned rich men that would like to forge their way into accessing the market to forget it since he will personally handle the list of vendors supposed to access the market.

Daniel Kugumisiriza ROKO Construction Company limited resident engineer noted that so far the Market is at effect liability stage where vendors can be allowed to access the market and engineers will put together remaining works later.

Roko was awarded the contract in 2018 under the World Bank Uganda Support to Municipal Infrastructure Development Program (USMID).

However, the 21 Billion Shillings market has faced several setbacks that included the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, expiration of the contractors’ performance guarantees among others.

In Rubirizi—

Police in Rubirizi are working hard to retrieve two bodies from a Benz that was crushed by a speeding trailer at Rutooto Rubirizi district.

According to SP Martial Tumuisiime the greater Bushenyi region police mouthpiece, the accident took place on 28^th Feb.2021 at around 19:45hours.

Tumusiime told www.mknewslink.com that a speeding trailer UBK 608W rammed into a Benz boxer UAZ452G crushing to death the occupants of the Benz.

The Police PRO attributed the accident to over speeding by the driver of the trailer.

SP Tumusiime called upon the general public or whoever is a relative to the owners of the Benz UAZ 452G to check out for them at Rutooto in Rubirizi.

In 2002, a tragic accident occurred at Rutooto when an SB company Bus killed over 70 people. The residents attributed the tragic incident to the gods they alleged were in the area then.

In Rubanda—

Rubanda district Woman Member of Parliament and also the commissioner of Parliament Hon Prosy Akampurira Begumisa Mbabazi has handed over 50 piglets to 12 village Women groups.

The groups are from Muko and Hamurwa Sub Counties, Rubanda and Hamurwa town councils in Rubanda as part of improving their household income.

While distributing the piglets to the beneficiaries at Rubanda district Rukiiko hall compound, Akampurira said that she lobbied the piglets from National Agricultural Advisory Services (NAADS) secretariat, following several requests from women.

She added that she lobbied 100 piglets including other 50 which were distributed recently and each group received four piglets.

Akampurira said that the piglets are to benefit all the group members when they produce by sharing the produced piglets.

She added that the piglets shall help to improve the welfare and household incomes of the beneficiaries, in addition to Parish Development Model both intended at improving household income.

The Rubanda District Veterinary Officer Dr Dismus Baterana confirmed that the piglets were brought healthy therefore asked the beneficiaries to embrace zero grazing of the piglets as well as construct pig sties, to avoid risks of getting animal diseases

In Rukungiri—

Police in Rukungiri district have arrested a village chairperson for allegedly defiling a four year old girl.

Kigezi Regional police Spokesperson Elly Maate identified the suspect as Julius Kashumbusha 45 years a chairperson of Kagorogoro village in Kabwooma parish, Nyakagyeme Sub County Rukungiri district.

Maate said that the suspect and the victim’s parents according to residents own shops in Kagorogoro trading center.

It’s alleged that on the 26/02/2022 at around 09:35hrs, the victim was seen coming from the suspect’s shop with a bottle of “Kabiriti drink.

Surprisingly, Tumubwine Bruce 28 years, the victim’s father together with his wife saw their daughter moving in unusual state forcing them to check on her and discovered some semen on her dress.

They went on checking her private parts and realized that their daughter might have been defiled given the state she was in.

The Parents then informed other local residents who arrested the suspect and handed him over to Nyakagyeme police post from where was transferred to Rukungiri CPS for further investigations.

The case of aggravated defilement has since been registered at Kisoro Police station under reference number CRB 159/2022.
