The Bishop Stuart University vice Chancellor Prof. Mauda Kamatenesi has asked leaders of Sheema to keep politics out of school leadership.

“We might have had different political ambitions but the fact that the season ended, let’s remove politics in school leadership,” Prof Kamatenesi advised.

She said all these on 4/2/2022 while speaking as a chief guest at a thanksgiving ceremony for her former school Kasaana 1 Primary School in Sheema District.

Prof. Mauda thanked the Head teacher and the entire leadership for the great work being done at school.

She asked parents to believe in God, love their schools and support girl child education.

“Am a living testimony. A young girl that grew and studied at Kasaana 1 P/S to be now a Professor. God will lift you to greater heights,” Prof Kamatenesi noted.

Prof joined the rest in fundraising for building of class block and renovating the school.

Karuhanga Nelson the LCV councilor Kasaana sub county and the Old boy of Kasaana 1 P/s stressed that they are working hard to push Kasaana 1 to a national level.

The school Headteacher Mr Karuhanga Edson thanked parents for entrusting him with their children, Old students for the support and good job being done at their school and promised them better PLE results.

The function was attended by parents, old students including Can. Apollo Buzare the chairman school management committee, Kasaana sub county LCIII chairperson Eldard Mwesigye who doubles as the PTA Chairman, Dr. Nicholas, Sheema District inspector of schools Sempa Muzafaru, Sheema District vice chairperson and councilors, among many others.

In Bushenyi/ Kampala—-

12 Bassajabalaba Secondary School have boarded a vehicle to come to Bushenyi to appear before court.

Bushenyi DPC Johnbosco Serunjogi said the students who have been in custody for three weeks now were arrested from their school on allegations of trying to burn their school.

The DPC Bushenyi added that the 5 will appear before court after arriving in Bushenyi today or Wednesday.

According to sources from Police, some of the students were to appear in court before they were taken to Kampala but Tycoon Hassan Bassajabalaba ordered for their transfer to Kampala for the fear of his conflicts in Bushenyi.

One of the fathers to the 12 students from Nyamununka Ntungamo told www.mknewslink.com that he has been to Bushenyi Central Police station several times but decided to travel to Kampala after failing to get a solution.

Serunjogi had earlier told www.mknewslink.com that the suspects who had been in custody were transferred to Kampala, Kibuli homicide department.

Sources allege that the arrested students were transferred on the orders of Hassan Bassajabalaba for proper interrogations since they suspected that there is an invisible hand behind the students’ actions.

Same sources told www.mknewslink.com that the tycoon suspected that students’ actions are influenced by haters following a disagreement at the neighboring mosque.

In Isingiro—

Leaders in Isingiro have moved to have their district divided into two more districts.

During a meeting that was convened at Rugaaga Town Council Headquarters in Bukanga constituency last week on Thursday , Members of Parliament from Bukanga south , Isingiro South and Isingiro District woman member of Parliament ,LC III chairpersons ,the Clergy wholesomely agreed to carryout consultation meetings with their residents to have their constituencies as districts of their own.

Steven Kangwangye the area Member of Parliament Bukanga south addressing the meeting noted that just like how Isingiro District was curved out of Mbarara district, Bukanga should also get its own District as way of getting enough funding from the central government which will Foster development of the area.

“Let’s imagine Isingiro was not curved out of Mbarara, would its residents get services?” Kangwangye wondered.

During his submission the Chairman LC V Isingiro District Aaron Turahi stated that Isingiro District is one of the largest districts in Western Uganda and the same district has fewer machines to work on the roads.

He said that Bukanga has enough population that would call for its own district.

Claire Mugumya the woman Member of Parliament Isingiro District addressing the same meeting noted that Bukanga constituency which has 11 Sub counties qualifies to have its own district.

Alex Byarugaaba Bakunda the legislator Isingiro South joined his fellow Members of Parliament and vowed to carry out consultation meetings with residents in his constituency to have their own district called Isingiro South.

Isingiro District has a total population of 610.000 with 30 Sub counties and two refugee camps.
