BISHOP TWINOMUJUNI SACKS MP BIRAARO FROM SYNOD OVER SECRET WIFE

The bishop of west Ankole diocese Rt Rev. Johnson Twinomujuni has fired the MP for Buhweju west Biraro Nganshanga from the synod of the diocese because he has a secret second wife in Kampala.

MP Biraro who was bishop Johnson’s nominee to the synod attended the first session of the synod last month

According to credible sources from the bishop Johnson’s office, he fired mp Biraro after investigations proved that hon. Biraro has a second wife with children in Kampala.

A source told www.mknewslink.com managing editor that bishop Johnson called Biraro in secrecy told him off that he had been fired from the synod.

Christians led Mr. Emmanuel karasi petitioned the archbishop Steven Kazimba Mugalu claiming that the synod was poorly constituted.

Mr. Karasi Called on the Archbishop Kazimba to nullify the election of head of laity and others.

The archbishop replied the Christians in a letter and noted he was going to compel bishop Johnson to brief him on how synod was constituted.

KABALE MIDWIFE AWARDED FOR EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE

Angella Arineitwe, a midwife at Butanda health center III in Butanda Sub County of Kabale district, is today set receive her accolades after being selected Ministry of Health through the National Midwives
Association of Uganda-NMAU, for her distinguished service in maternal health services.

According to the Acting Kabale Health officer, Alfred Besigensi,Arineitwe has been serving at the same facility for the last 10 years.

Besigensi says that Arineitwe through community sensitization has helped to increase the number of mothers delivering at the health facility from 8 to over 20 mothers monthly.

He adds that because of Arineitwe’s hard work, the ministry in 2017, the Ministry of Health selected her to go and study a diploma in Midwifery by Amref Health Africa and changed the health centre from category 4 to category 1. Her hard work by encouraging skill birth attendance, led to the creation of two other outreach sites in Bugoto and Kabutuku.

Arineitwe says that when she was posted at Butanda HCIII, she found when mothers were not delivering in health facilities, which prompted her to do community mobilization, by encouraging expectant mothers to seek health services, attend Antenatal care visits and also to deliver
from the health facility, since she assured them of the availability of Maternal health services.
Arineitwe recounts how she delivered a retained twin, whom the traditional birth attendant had suspected to be a retained placenta.
The Assistant District Health officer in Charge of Child and Maternal Heath, Paddy Mwesigye, says that Arineitwe, who was yesterday taken through orientation at the Ministry of Health offices, will today
receive her Awards at Parliament, by the Parliament’s Committee on Health.

MBARARA DISTRICT HAILSTORM VICTIMS RECEIVE RELIEF FOOD

The Office of the prime minister has released 14,000 fourteen thousand kilograms of maize flour and seven thousand kilograms of beans to be distributed to families in Mbarara district that were hit by
a hailstorm in November 2021.

The food relief was received by Mbarara district chairperson Didas Tabaro Tumwesigye , the Chief Administrative Officer Mbarara district Kasagara Edward and the City Clerk Mbarara Abareebe Assy Tumwesigye at the district headquarters Kamukuzi.

Tabaro Tumwesigye thanked the government for providing the food relief.

He requested the people to think of requesting for seeds and not food for the short term

The Mbarara district Secretary for Finance and administration Abraham Kansiime Manigye urged the head of families that were affected by the hailstorm and registered with Bubaare sub county leadership last year 2021 November to converge at Kamushoko parish headquarters on Friday April 29, 2021 at 10:00am to receive food relief.

The member of Parliament Kashari south Mbarara district Hon Nathan Itungo is expected to preside over the ceremony.
