RUKUNGIRI RESIDENTS WARNED AGAINST BRIBING COURT OFFICIALS

The Principal Judge Dr Flavian Zeija has cautioned court clients against corrupting court servants with the aim of getting favors which leads members of the public to question the justice system and the independence of the Judiciary.
This was part of his remarks while presiding over the Open Court Day at Rukungiri chief Magistrates court.
Justice Flavian Zeija revealed that they have recruited 16 judges awaiting presidential approval to help the judiciary fight absenteeism, late coming, escapism, and delays but warned the public against bribing court officials
The resident Judge for Kabale High Court Moses Kazibwe Kawumi appreciated the genuine work done by the Rukungiri court community and asked people who become court clients to always opt for mediation and reconciliation rather than pursuing the court process that consumes a lot of time and resources.
The Rukungiri Chief Magistrate Her worship Mbabazi Mary Edith appreciated the Judiciary for focusing on quality justice delivery as well as harmony between district entities.
The chairperson LC5 Rukungiri Kyomukama Geoffrey commended the court fraternity for their transparency which has fostered calmness and called for increased staff .
Dr Flavian Zeija affirmed that High Court at Rukungiri is to start as soon as possible after confirmation of the 16 recently recruited judges.
