MASINDI LAUNCHES ROAD SPOT IMPROVEMENT WORTH 960M

Leaders in Masindi District on Monday launched spot improvement of district roads that will cost 960 million shillings. The spot improvement of 20 kilometers is across the district.
While launching the project at Kiruli Trading Center, Hon. Ronald Akugizibwe Aled, the Member of Parliament for Buruli Constituency, disclosed that the project is funded by the Ministry of Works and Transport.
He urged the community members to use the rehabilitated roads to increase production thus improve their household income.
The politician assured residents that other roads in sorry state will be rehabilitated.
The Force Account Manager for Western Region at the Ministry of Works and Transport, Mr. Tibihika Isaac told the locals that the ministry will support the district to rehabilitate the six roads in the district.
The roads are Pakanyi -Nyakarongo road 8.2km, Kitamba Kijunjubwa road 5.2km, Kitengule-Ipedi-Kimina road 0.7km,Bulima-Byebega road at Kyawinyi swamp 1/2km,Katagurukwa-Kinumi road 2.9km and Kinumi-Kisindizi road 2.5km totalling to 20kilometers.
The Masindi District Chairperson, Mr. Byaruhanga Cosmas expressed excitement and appreciated the government through the Ministry of Works and Transport for rehabilitating the roads which are in sorry state.
