MASINDI COURT REMANDS MAN WHO BIT OFF CUSTOMER’S EAR

MASINDI: The Masindi Grade One Magistrate Court has today remanded David Katugume a 28 year old gentleman to Masindi prison for biting off his customer’s ear over a debt of 200 shillings.
On 24th July 2022, Tugume who was a money collector at a theater hall in Kibaali trading center Miirya Sub county Masindi district allegedly bit-off David Muhumuza’s left ear after the two developed misunderstandings as Tugume was demanding David Shs.200/ for watching a movie.
Tugume immediately took-off into hiding, leaving David in severe bleeding before the people around mobilized means to rush him to Masindi-Kitara Medical Centre for treatment.
After 2 weeks of tracking, the area residents through their intelligence managed to arrest Tugume from a house where he was hiding before they handed him over to Masindi Central Police.
When contacted, the Albertine region Police Spokesperson Julius Hakiza, confirmed that the offender was charged with Grievous harm after he pleaded guilty of the offence.
Today, Tugume was fronted to Masindi Grade One Magistrate’s Court where Magistrate Selsa Biwaga remanded him to Masindi government Prison for 10 days.
He is set to return to court on 20th of August 2022 for further hearing of his case.
