MBARARA: BODA BODA RIDER HAMMERED TO DEATH, MOTORCYCLE STOLEN

Police in Mbarara are hunting for an unknown assailant behind the brutal killing of a Boda boda rider in Rwentondo, Kakoba division, Mbarara city south and theft of his motorcycle on Thursday morning.
The assailants hammered Gilbert Atukwatse a resident of Mwizi in Rwampara District on the head to death at around 05:00Am today (Thursday) morning adjacent to BSU faculty of law in Rwentondo, Kakoba division, Mbarara City.
The assailant made off with the motorcycle of the deceased reg. no. UFL141R. The deceased has been operating from Coca cola stage in Mbarara city.
Christopher Byaruhanga , the outgoing Vice Chairman Mbarara city Boda Boda Riders Association , says the deceased was hired by unidentified man today morning at around 05:00Am from the stage.
He, however, says that along the way the unknown assailant hit him with a hammer on the head.
He wants police to ensure regular patrols in the outskirts of the city.
By the time we filed this story police detectives from Mbarara central police had taken the body of the deceased to Mbarara regional referral hospital mortuary for a postmortem.
