In Kabale—
Students of Kabale Technical Institute yesterday stormed the office of the Resident District Commissioner following the suspension of their fellow students.
8 students including Junior Ayebare the outgoing guild president were on 29th Sept. 2022 suspended from school and are expected to come back for Uganda Business and Technical Examinations Board (UBTEB) which is in November of this year.
Miracle Tayebwa and Edinah Owembabazi the incoming Guild & vice guild President respectively told www.mknewslink.com that the 8 were suspended under unclear circumstances.
The duo revealed that the suspension came after students raised their concern over heavy police deployment and intimidation from the same force.
While addressing the angry students at Kabale district headquarters, Godfrey Nyakahuma the Resident District Commissioner Kabale asked them to be patient until 7/10/2022 when they will hold stakeholders meeting to look for the final solution to all the technical related problems.
Nyakahuma also added that they have agreed to return all suspended students and remove all police officers because it’s not a barracks for them to stay.
