In Bushenyi—
An HIV positive woman Eva Bashabire Turyamureba stunned Bushenyi district and Municipality in particular that was preceded by church service at Kashenyi church of Uganda.
The service was presided over the emeritus bishop Yona Katoonene who preached with vigor, hope and happiness.
He was assisted by the Rev. Can Muhwezi, the archdeacon of Ishaka Urban Archdeaconry and the parish priest Kashenyi.
Emeritus Katoonene assured Christians who were fully packed in the church that HIV can be overcome when you get saved fully, take your drugs in time and start preaching against it like Bashabire.
The service was attended by dignitaries who included; Prof. Emmanuel Karoro, Former head teacher Mwine sub county chief Ruhumuro Nelson among other dignatories.
After the service the entire church went to her home near Kashenyi health centre, planted a memorable tree and had goodies at home.
Robby Muhumuza the board member Nation media and his wife Anne Muhumuza took charge of the memorial magazine that was launched by Bishop Emeritus Yona Katoonene.
Presents and speeches started flowing in; the first one was for TASO Mbarara where about 15 people attended and gave a speech including a young girl who learnt of her HIV status at 11 and she is now Miss Uganda young activist.
Mary Karooro Okurut sent her sister in law Ms. Dorah Karoro to deliver her huge presents which were ably delivered with applause and support from fans of Eva.
She had an article in the magazine that read from Ashes to grace as she describes Eva Bashabire’s situation.
Other people who had articles in the magazine include Emeritus Bishop Yona Katoonene titled living with hope amidst challenges, Jaffari Bassajabala titled appreciation of Eva Turyamureba’s advocacy efforts.

A Boda Boda Rider who went missing in Mbarara District for four days has been found dead.

Mathias Amanya 20, based at Nsika boda boda stage in Akakinga Cell,Nsika Parish , Kagongi Sub county, was reportedly hired by unknown people from his stage on 14th,Oct.2022 at unspecified time .Since then Amanya had never been seen.

This caused tension among his fellow riders who started tracing for him in vain. They later reported the matter at Rubindi Police Post on 15th, Oct.2022.

Joseph Mwebembezi the Chairman Nsika Boda boda stage says,the disappearance of Amanya shocked riders prompting them to start searching for him in vain.

On Monday, residents discovered Amanya’s lifeless body dumped in a bush in Ncune cell ,Ncune Parish,Kashare Subcounty though his motorcycle registration not yet known and other valuables are still untraceable.

ASP Samson Kasasira, the Rwizi police mouthpiece says that investigations have commenced. According to Kasasira one suspect has been arrested in connection to the crime.

He adds that the body of the deceased has been taken to Mbarara regional referral hospital for postmortem report.
