In Bushenyi—
Greater Bushenyi leaders MPs and LCV chairpersons left Bushenyi for state house on Friday last week vowing to hit in the face the director of PIBID Rev. Dr. Florence Muranga and her staff for taking district land, not employing Bushenyians as well as the factory not functioning to full scale.
According to credible sources who attended the meeting held at statehouse Entebbe the leaders were led by the deputy speaker Thomas Tayebwa who presented a brief speech, the son of Kaguta interjected and blasted the leaders to 100% level.
The leaders who are outspoken like Karyeija of Mitooma and Deo Atuhaire of Buhweju came back tongue tied and could not pick any call from the media.
The president strongly warned Bushenyi leaders to distance themselves from PIBID matters adding that it’s Prof. Muranga’s initiative thus it doesn’t concern them.
He noted that he is the one with the plan alongside prof. Muranga therefore the MPs and LCV chairpersons should shut up forever.
PIBID was started around 2004 by Prof. Florence Muranga and other researchers on how to produce banana flour from fresh bananas.
The time for presidential initiative has elapsed and BIRDC has taken over as a registered company to do business in Uganda and internationally.
PIBID took over Nyaruzinga demonstration farm in Bushenyi Ishaka a huge land of many acres. The board was constituted and Bushenyi CAO Charles Kiberu was appointed secretary.
