Police in Kanungu are holding three members of the same family in connection with the death of their 67-year-old biological father.

Elly Maate the Kigezi Regional Police Spokesperson identified the suspects as Jackline Tukasingura 42 years the second wife to the deceased, together with her two sons, Musinguzi Emmy 19years and
Ampwere Friday 14years old who connived to kill their father identified as Charles Tibesigwa aged 67 resident of Nyarwemarirwa cell Mbubimbwa parish Kirima sub county Kanungu district.

ASP Maate told journalists that it’s alleged that the victim went missing on the 19/10/ 2022 and was discovered dead on the 26/10/ 2022 at around 02:00pm near his second wife’s home at Karoni cell, Nyamirama town council in Kanungu district, privately and secretly buried by the second wife, two sons Plus other yet to be known people.

Police visited the scene by ASP Olargiu Innocent OC Station and team, body found buried pending to be exhumed for Postmortem.

Inquiries are at hand under CRB, 647/2022 to establish the cause of death.

In Kisoro—

A police man in Kisoro is currently under detention at Kisoro police station for shooting an Indian businessman.

Patel Kuntaj, an Indian sales man at Patel hardware business along Main Street was yesterday shot twice by the police officer after being promised a 20 million Ugandan shillings payoff.

The suspect is Elioda Gumizamo aged 21 attached to Nyakande refugee transit center under the FFU police unit. He has been serving as a police man for about four years.
Patel Kuntaj aged 24 years was rushed to St. Francis Mutolere hospital in critical condition.
Speaking to media, the Kisoro District Police Commander (DPC) Musisi Robert said that police responded quickly and with help of locals, the suspect was arrested with one gun that had 28 rounds of ammunition.
He said that he was surprised to find out that the suspect is a police officer who was trained to keep law and order.
He added that police are hunting for his accomplices that could have aided him in doing such a heinous act.

Kisoro RDC Hajji Shaffique Sekandi condemned the act of such trained police personnel. He commended residents for helping police to capture the suspect. He also said that the act is a big shame to a government worker trained to keep people and their property.
He revealed that charges of attempted murder and aggravated robbery have been preferred against the suspect.

Eyewitnesses say that the suspect entered the shop hiding the gun in a sack and ran away after shooting at Patel. They added that they managed to follow the suspect up to Laiyne boda boda stage in the suburbs of Kisoro municipality where they captured him as he tried to board a boda boda.

A pupil of Parental Care Primary School Bushenyi will compete in spelling Bee competition in Malawi with over 30 African countries after emerging winner at Serena in Uganda competition.
Andrew Ahabyoona Lords finished behind pupils of Greenhill academy and Horizon International school.
According to the deputy head teacher parental care primary school Desmon Tayebwa the competitions will be held in Blantyre Malawi between 8th Dec. and 12 Dec. 2022.
Mr. Tayebwa added that he will also escort his pupil to Blantyre and witness how he will shake Africa.

He noted that forty schools participated in the Kampala Serena competitions organized by Enjuba National spelling Bee competitions.
The deputy head teacher revealed that the competition has been there for many years at both regional, national level as well as international and Parental care primary school has been participating at all levels.
The educationist added that Spelling Bee competition helps in building self-esteem, academic excellence, reading culture, interpersonal skills and confidence among others.
