Nile breweries double cabin vehicle has today evening crashed into a building on liberation road Bushenyi town.
The vehicle registration no. UBE 739D which was parked at former Trends inn drove itself into the building of Godfrey Owakubaruho alias Manager.
According to eye witnesses, the vehicle was poorly parked in a free gear and therefore the driver of the vehicle is to blame for the accident.
Sources say the Nile breweries vehicle had come for burial of Rev. Fr. Bashobora’s grandson Cassias Tumwine.
By press time, the vehicle was being towed to Bushenyi central police station.
Counsel Michael Kasenene the lawyer for Owakubaruho told www.mknewslink.com that he will ensure that his client is duly compensated all that he has lost.

The Former Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom Prime Minister Norman Lukumu has accused Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom of brainwashing political leaders in Buliisa district in an effort to fail the Bagungu seccession plan.

This comes at a time Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom is allegedly organizing a meeting with all LC2 Chairpersons from Buliisa district which, according to Lukumu is intended to persuade them to stop supporting the secession of the Bagungu from Bunyoro Kingdom.

Lukumu made the revelation while speaking to our reporter in an exclusive interview on Monday.

Lukumu asserted that the Kingdom has no mandate to host political leaders since it is a cultural institution that is supposed to be nonpartisan.

”The Kingdom is not mandated to host politicians because it is a cultural institution, they want to brainwash the LC2 chairpersons on the matter of the Bagungu secession,” he said.

This comes at a time when a section of Bagungu are agitating for the secession of Bagungu located in Buliisa district from Bunyoro Kingdom citing marginalization and erosion of their culture.
However, the Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom Prime Minister Andrew Byakutaga could neither confirm nor deny Lukumu’s claims on the planned meeting with LC2 chairpersons

”I am not aware of the planned meeting between the Kingdom and the LC2 chaipersons from Buliisa district, maybe one of the Kingdom ministers has invited them, but I am not aware of it, let me find out,” he said.

However the premier revealed that the Kingdom has been hosting political leaders from the districts in the Kingdom.

”This is not the first time we shall be hosting politicians from the kingdom, recently we hosted the councilors, district chairpersons and members of parliament,” he said.

Byakutaga clarified that though they host political leaders, the meetings are not political but focus on cultural matters.

”The Kingdom has protocols it follows and it therefore doesn’t involve itself in political affairs,” he said.

Nyakabande sub county LCV councilor, Maniraguha Godfrey has petitioned the Bufumbira East legislator and district woman MP over government’s move to evict Gitundwe swamp users in Nyakabande sub county in January next year.
According to the letter addressed to Hon. Dr. James Nsaba Buturo and the state minister in charge of children and youth’s affairs, Hon. Sarah Nyirabashitsi, Maniraguha is requesting these legislators to be on ground and get to know the issues affecting the yet to be displaced Gitundwe swamp users.
Speaking to our reporter Maniraguha said that he opted for a petition to the members of parliament because they can easily address the issues affecting their voters to parliament for discussion and consideration.
He added that different leaders for swamp users combined efforts to write to NEMA appealing for reconsideration of its directive to have all swamp users evicted but no reply has been seen.
He said that Gitundwe swamp is the only food production area for Nyakabande people and moments of suffering are likely to be witnessed once evictions are made as planned.
He also accused the members of parliament for not visiting their voters in the recent holiday. He added that once his petition is not answered, he will rally locals to protest by walking to state house.

Meanwhile, he rallied locals that depend on the said swamp not to accept government’s low quality Irish potato seeds, poor quality livestock and other interventions that will not provide a sustainable life.

Speaking to www.mknewslink.com reporter, the Bufumbira East Member of parliament, Hon. Dr. Nsaba Buturo said that the wetland users are right not to leave the wetland until government provides them with alternative source of livelihood.
He revealed that as leaders they are still asking government to compensate wetland users. He blamed poor quality of livestock and farm products on selfish local leaders who act on behalf of government.
