SIX SUSPECTS ARRESTED IN NTUNGAMO KYAMATE SCHOOL FIRE.

Police in Ntungamo have arrested two more students of Kyamate secondary school following a fire that killed one student and left three others injured on Sunday evening.
The suspects have been identified as Twesigye Lawrence and Kushaba Norman on top of Odongo Kanyesingye Odmaro, Anthony Arinaitwe, Arnold Tumwesigye and Elijah Arinaitwe who were arrested yesterday, bringing the number to six.
Rwizi region police spokesperson Samson Kasasira, says they hunting for other two still at a large identified as Joshua Asiimwe and Wilber Tumushabe both senior three students who were suspended due to indiscipline but later cited in the school on 26/02/2023
Meanwhile, the team headed by the acting director police fire and rescue services Apora James revisited the scene of crime on Tuesday to assess the effects of the fire.
They also put strategies in place to avoid future incidents of fire and also inspected the safety preparedness of the existing accommodation for students and other school structures.
Kasasira further said that a jerrycan containing petrol and a blanket sucked in petrol were recovered at the scene of the fire indicating that the fire was started intentionally with a motive to destroy property or take life.
The remains of the deceased were laid to rest yesterday on 27/02/2023 in Rukoni East Ntungamo District.
