KABALE UNIVERSITY STUDENT MURDERED BY HER BOYFRIEND

Police in Kabale District are investigating circumstances under which Kabale University student was found dead in her rental room in Kabale. The deceased is suspected to have been murdered by her boyfriend a one Arinaitwe Denis.
Elly Maate the Kigezi Region police spokesperson identified the deceased as Sarah Naturinda aged 20, a second-year student pursuing bachelors in education at Kabale University who was staying in Kamukira cell, Mwanjari ward, Southern division, Kabale municipality.
According to the eye witnesses last saw the suspect Arinaitwe Denis the boyfriend with the deceased at her room on the 19/03/2023, at around 07:00am, moments before he went to the police barracks where he shot police officer Komuhangi Caroline to death meanwhile the suspect was dating both girls at once.
Maate said that yesterday 21/03/2023, at around 03:45pm, a case of disappearance of the deceased Sarah was reported at Kabale police station by the landlord Turyatemba Charles.
The case was reported after the father of the deceased identified as Ndanganwa Naris who came from home in Bishaki village, Nyombe parish, Kahungye sub county, Kabale district to check on the daughter after taking two days without hearing from her on phone and started tracing for her.
Maate narrated that the deceased father and other neighbors went to the room of the deceased, where she was renting and broke in, on entering inside they found the said Sarah Naturinda dead lying on bed facing down tied both hands with a cloth and both the mouth and the nose also covered with a cloth.
Maate said that the suspect Denis Arinaitwe, is still admitted at Kabale referral hospital under guard by Kabale police officers after injuring himself the day he shot dead the police lady.
Police was notified, scene was visited led by D/CID/O, D/ASP Batumwa Charles, processed and body was retrieved from the scene and conveyed to Kabale referral hospital Mortuary for post-mortem.
The Police Spokesperson notes that Case of murder was registered at Kabale Central Police station under reference number CRB: 242/2023.
