MOB MURDERS SUSPECTED THIEF, ANOTHER SERIOUSLY INJURED IN MBARARA

Police in Mbarara City are investigating circumstances under which an angry mob attacked two suspected thieves, killing one on spot and leaving his accomplice hospitalized.
The Duo was intercepted by boda boda riders near Mbarara Modern Secondary School in surveyor cell, Kakiika, Mbarara city north on Thursday 6th April.
The two thieves reportedly snatched a bag from a lady who had withdrawn unspecified amount of money from a mobile money agent along Ntare Road from where a Boda Boda mob followed them until they killed one of the thieves and severely injured his colleague.
The two were traveling on a motorcycle before they were intercepted in Surveyor cell, Mbarara city North.
According to eyewitnesses, one of the suspects identified as Ben Kazora also a Landlord in Surveyor cell tried escaping from the mob but was eventually intercepted at Kosiya Hotel but Police managed to rescue him from the angry mob.
Residents say he has been behind several robberies in Mbarara City.
ASP Samson Kasasira the Rwizi police Spokesperson, condemned the mob action, saying police could not identify the deceased because he did not have any identification documents.
He said one of the suspects who sustained serious injuries was admitted at Mbarara regional referral hospital.
