Bweranyangi junior school a government primary school under west Ankole diocese as well as a junior primary for Bweranyangi girsl SS has accomplished building a dormitory that accommodates 300 female pupils.

According to the head teacher of the school Isaac Katondole, the dormitory is divided into three sections and each section will accommodate 100 pupils under one roof.

The head teacher added that the dormitory is already habitable because the conclusive works are done and the girls will any time occupy the magnificent dormitory.

H/M Mr. Katondole hailed the chairperson management committee Ms. Juliet Muzoora who is also the H/M Bweranyangi girls’ SS for working hard to ensure that Bweranyangi junior school gets out of miserable numbers that have grown up to 1200 pupils this term.

Mr. Katondole also applauds the PTA executive and entire parents for paying school fees on time and supporting the school in all spheres of life and hence such a beautiful dormitory.

The H/M further said that the school opened officially yesterday on 28th May 2023 with borders and day scholars reporting today, and thanks the almighty God for keeping them moving forward steadily.

In Ntungamo

The Inspectorate of government has ordered the Ntungamo district chief administrative officer to interdict the acting Ntungamo district water officer and the district senior internal auditor to investigate mess in contract management and shoddy works on a water project and several roads infrastructure.

The Deputy Inspector General of Government Ms Anne Twinomugisha Muhairwe identified the acting Ntungamo district water officer as Mr Dismus Tumushangye and the district senior internal auditor Mr Ezra Kwesigamukama

In a letter which was seen by dated May 25 2023 to the chief administrative officer Ntungamo, the Deputy Inspector General of Government Ms Anne Twinomugisha Muhairwe instructed that the two should be interdicted as they investigate diversion of public resources and shoddy works on four roads.

The inspectorate of government is conducting investigations into matters related to diversion of public resources and shoddy works that were satisfied by officials of Ntungamo district local government.

The letter which was seen by our news reporter preliminary investigations has established that in the financial year 2021/2022, Ntungamo district planned to construct three Ferro water tanks at Ruyonza seed school, Rwebirere- Ruhara and Ngoma Church of Uganda. The water tank for Ngoma church of Uganda was diverted and constructed at the home of Mr Benon Bihungu, a businessman in the area.

The letter further specifies that while the tank was supervised by Mr Tumushangye, it was fraudulently certified by Mr Kwesigamukama who indicated that the tank was constructed at its planned location.

They are also charged with poorly presiding over poorly executed contracts on three roads in the district in contravention of the bills of quantities.

IG says were shoddily done on the roads 14Kms Kagarama- Rukarango- Rwamabondo, 25Kms Omungyenyi- Kagugugu- Kashanda and Kabagyenda- Kanyomozi- Rwakakoko- Nyaburiza- Rwera.

Part of the letter that was seen by our report shows that there is a prim facie case against the two officers and their continued stay in office while investigations are ongoing will affect the investigations.

The purpose of this communication, therefore, is to direct you to immediately interdict Mr Tumushangye Dismus, acting district water officer and Mr Kwesigamukama Ezra, Senior Internal auditor and the Senior Internal auditor was also arrested on Thursday.

The IG is still in Ntungamo district investigating several corruption allegations from all district departments in a move to reduce corruption tendencies.

Ms Muhairwe told our reporter on Thursday evening that there are several cases being investigated and at the end of the investigations there may be a chance to have some light in addressing mismanagement and impunity in the Ntungamo district employees.

In Kisoro

Police in Kisoro district is currently holding two suspects in custody on allegations of murdering a student of Kasana Secondary School in Ndimiro trading center.

The Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson identified the deceased as Vianny Ndayisaba aged 22, a student at Kasana SSS also a resident of Kigoma village Gisorora parish Nyakabande subcounty in the Kisoro district.

ASP Maate told journalists that it’s alleged that on 27/5/2023 at around 03:00pm, the deceased went to Ndimiro trading center and he did not go back home, until the following morning when his father received information from Musabyimana Richard that his son is lying dead in Ndimiro trading center.

Police was informed, scene visited, processed and documented, body was taken to Kisoro hospital mortuary for Postmortem

According to Elly Maate two suspects were arrested and detained in police custody to help in investigations while Inquiries still ongoing.

The Police Spokesperson notes that Case of murder was registered at Kisoro District police station under reference number CRB.377/2023.

Politics, Kakuyege, vote hunting, alliances are evident in Buhweju west Buhweju district as four giants race for Mpship of 2015 in NRM primaries and there after 2026 general elections.

The Men in the race are the incumbent Ephraim Biraro Nganshanga, Mr. Daniel Nareba, Mr. Willison Bebaga and the power full Eng. John Bosco Kalisa commonly known as ceiling in Buhweju which means is on top of most situations for example if it is a fundraising he summaries the required budget and pays it all, if it is education, scholarships can be obtained, if it is treatment he contributes heavily for local and abroad treatments.

The incumbent Ephraim Biraro is the founding member of parliament of Buhweju west for the first term and he had also had another term earlier for the whole constituency before it was split.

Hon. Ephraim Biraro is well known for being absolutely mean. He is even most times unable to fund constituency needs as well as in campaigns paying agents facilitation.

During his first term in the two constituencies before split, he was the most powerful chairman of the most powerful committee (physical infrastructure) which included UNRA, Road fund, Ministry of works and Transport among others.

Due to the heavy budget that he was approving and controlling, he managed to work on many roads in Buhweju which have since then been washed away by mudslides, heavy rains and are no more because of the terrane.

The Uganda’s politics of today depend on who spends most whenever it is necessary, who has social capital, government networks, royal to NRM among others and all these qualities is what Eng. John Bosco Kalisa has.

Eng. John Bosco Kalisa supported a lot of developmental activities in greater Buhweju when his late wife Joy Kalisa “may her soul rest in peace” was a woman member of parliament for Buhweju. And continued to do progressive activities even when his sister in law Hon. Oliver Kwoyekyenga took over and currently woman MP Buhweju district.

Eng. John Bosco Kalisa is a giant in the politics, education, health, agriculture and all spheres of development because he puts Buhweju first and never migrated to Kashari, Mbarara, Rwampara, Kampala running away from hills like other Buhweju powerful people. He even vows to have his final rest in Buhweju when God calls him to heaven.

He is a retired assistant commissioner in the ministry of defense where he rose from ranks as a junior officer to assistant commissioner and has had a clean career.

Another big and shocking disadvantage to Hon. Ephraim Biraro is the nomination to the synod, the highest body of west Ankole diocese by Bishop Johnson Twinomujuni who later established that Hon. Ephraim has two wives which is against the Anglican Church rules. Bishop Johnson disappointed Hon. Ephraim after attending the first meeting and told him not come in the subsequent ones since he has two wives which is against the Anglican Church canons.

Other candidates Nareba Daniel and Wilson Rwebaga will not matter so much in the coming campaign because the race will be between Eng. John Bosco Kaslisa and Hon. Ephraim Biraro.
