In Kiryandongo…
Three occupants of a Mercedes SINO trailer, registration number UAT 113F, are feared dead after the vehicle they were traveling in lost control and plunged into the Nile.
The incident happened today afternoon at Karuma Bridge in Kiryandongo district.
According to eyewitnesses, the trailer coming from Elegu was over speeding for a distance close to the bridge before the driver lost control and rammed into the high-speed river.
There is no trace of a trailer that can be seen at the scene; however, bottles of beer are seen broken and scattered all over the point of the ram.
It is suspected that the over speeding driver was drunk, leading to the accident.
Eyewitnesses say that the trailer had three passengers: two males, including the driver, and one female.
