521 PUPILS SCORE GRADE U IN MBARARA CITY P.7 MOCK

521 primary seven candidates failed Primary Leaving Mock Examinations set by the Mbarara city council Examination Board.
The city registered candidates 5,733 to sit for this year’s mock exams in both public and private primary schools in Mbarara city.But according to the results released of recent, 9.8 percent of them failed the exams.
Those who passed were 1164 representing 20.3 percent students in division one, 2392 representing 41.7 percent in division two, 530 representing 9.2 percent in third ,1057 representing 18.4 percent in division four, and 521 in division X ,a performance which has been classified as better than last year where 983 candidates failed the exams.The best subject was English language, followed by integrated science, social studies and mathematics.
Mbarara city Education officer , Francis Tumwebaze said that the only way to eliminate failures in the fourth coming final examinations is to guide the learners through corrections in the mock exams.He said that mock exams were meant to moral boost the pupils to perform better in the final exams.
