The Former Deputy vice Chancellor of Kampala International University’s Western Campus, and before vice chancellor Ibanda University Professor Emmanuel Karoro, yesterday urged teachers in Uganda to serve as role models in their teaching roles.
Professor Emmanuel Karoro, who is a Professor at Bishop Barham University College Kabale while delivering message yesterday on October 25, 2023, during a one-day workshop for undergraduate students at Uganda Christian University’s Bishop Barham University College Kabale the event which took place in the Multipurpose Hall aimed to provide clinical supervision for teaching practices scheduled for the next semester.
Karoro emphasized that teachers should be exemplary with good behaviour and manners they expect from their students. He stressed that a teacher’s conduct and integrity in the classroom are crucial for fostering respect and understanding among young learners.
Professor Karoro said a teacher should be an example so that the students you are teaching can learn not just the subject matter but also how to conduct themselves as responsible individuals.
Following the workshop, students pursuing education degrees expressed their gratitude to the organizers for the valuable training and they said that the session had equipped them with essential insights into how to conduct themselves during their teaching practice.
The students requested more such sessions to gain further experience before venturing into the field of teaching.

Police in Kabale District are currently detaining a 19-year-old Rwandan national who is accused of sexually assaulting a 7-year-old nursery school child in Shooro village, Buhara sub-county, Kabale District.

The young victim has been identified as Arinda Tracy, a 7-year-old female student at Kabahesi Nursery and Primary School and a resident of Shooro village, Buhara sub-county in Kabale District.

Elly Maate, the Kigezi Region police spokesperson told journalists today that on 23/10/2023, between 09:00 am and 10:00 am in Kabahesi village, Buhara sub-county, Kabale District, the suspect identified as Mulengyezi Silver, aged 19, and a casual laborer who had been living in Kabahesi village, had sexual intercourse with the young victim.

According to Maate, the suspect intercepted the victim as she was on her way to school, forcefully took her to his place, and sexually assaulted her. This heinous act caused significant pain and bleeding to the victim, who was subsequently threatened by the suspect not to disclose the incident to anyone.

Upon returning home, the victim’s distress was noticed by her sister, Macline, who observed that the child was wearing her clothing improperly. When questioned, the victim confided in Macline about the assault, who then informed their grandmother.

The grandmother, in response to her granddaughter’s ordeal, insisted that the child change her clothing. This is when it was discovered that the young victim’s undergarments were stained with blood.

Unfortunately, due to a lack of transportation, the grandmother was unable to report the incident immediately. It wasn’t until the next day, on 24/10/2023, that a good Samaritan provided them with transportation to Kabale police station, where the matter was officially reported.

Police visited the scene of the crime, conducted an examination, and documented the evidence. Relevant statements were obtained from witnesses, and both the victim and the suspect were examined.

The suspect was subsequently arrested and detained, and the investigation is ongoing.

Kagadi police have arrested a pastor who allegedly SLEEPING with another man’s wife and also impregnated their daughter who is under age.

The accused has been identified as Pastor Talemwa William a resident of Kigangaizi Cell in Kagadi Town council, Kagadi district and the leader of Kamaira Jerusalem church which is under the Grace church foundation in Ruteete Town Council.

Speaking to www.mknewslink.com reporter on Wednesday, the Kagadi Resident District Commissioner Lillian Ruteraho explained that pastor Talemwa has been arrested on her orders and has closed his church until all investigations are done.

Ruteraho says the woman and her daughter had gone to the pastor to be prayed for and the duo purportedly ended up developing a love affair with him.

It is alleged that the woman also connived with Pastor Talemwa and convinced her husband Eldad Kateeba of Kagadi Town Council to sell his Tipper Truck.They used 25M shs from the vehicle sales and bought a new car which they registered in the names of Pastor William Taremwa.

Meanwhile, before the arrest, Pastor Talemwa claimed that the money being talked about which he used to buy a car was his but declined to comment on infidelity allegations.
