In Bushenyi–
Uganda’s deputy head of mission to the European union and Benelux countries in Brussels Amb. Franklin Katungwe has urged voters in Bushenyi to vote leaders with ideas but not because of their monies.
Amb. Katungwe said this today 31st August 2024 while speaking to graduands, parents and the community during a second graduation ceremony of Makerere institute of commerce and vocational studies.
He noted that Bushenyi which used to have five ministers now has non-elected minister because they voted money.
He added that he met the president and asked him why none of the MPs in Bushenyi is a minister and he answered that all the MPs from Bushenyi are below level of a minister.
Amb. Katungwe appealed to voters in Bushenyi and Uganda at large not to vote for MPs and other leaders who have money but vote for quality leaders with ideas.
According to the director of the institute Evans Boroora, 127 graduated today with certificates and diplomas.
He added that the institute started with 4 students but now has over 200 students and will soon celebrate 10 years of existence.
He noted that the courses offered are examined by UBTEB and other examining bodies therefore he called parents to bring students for quality education.
The chief guest Francis Mwebesa who was represented by Dr. Joshua Mutambi assured parents that skills development is top on government’s agenda therefore they should enroll their children in schools like Makerere Institute of Commerce and Vocational studies.
Amb. Katungwe contributed one million shillings and bought a goat which he donated to the RDC Robert Atuhairwe.
www.mknewslink.com offered one job slot to the school to any student who is willing to work from greater Bushenyi as a reporter sitting at the headquarter.
