The minister of Local Government Raphael Magyezi has assured Kabagarame pork market traders that his ministry will ensure that cameras are installed around the market to stop people who burn it regularly.
He said this today 2nd Sept. during the visit to the market following a report tabled by the district woman MP Annet Katusiime Mugisha on the floor of parliament after the market was burnt last month.
Minister Magyezi told www.mknewslink.com that the speaker of parliament Annet Annita Among sent him to Kabagarame to establish the problem and provide solutions.
Magyezi told traders, town clerk and mayor that the ministry of local government will provide a fence for Kabagarame to control people who enter the market and provide security for the market.
He noted that the ministry will also ensure that sanitary conditions are taken care of and more latrines are constructed.
He added that the management of the market and municipal council will ensure that all kitchens and houses where people eat from are absolutely clean to attract international tourists to the market who bring in foreign currency.
The minister visited one of the piggery farmers Odomaro and his son Innocent next to Kabagarame market and was impressed that the piggery farm was clean and productive therefore advised farmers to borrow a leaf from Odomaro and Innocent as they develop themselves.
The minister also visited the industrial park in Ishaka where individuals have allocated themselves plots belonging to the municipality promising to deal with all those encroaching on government land.
He visited Ishaka taxi park where he expressed happiness that all the buses park in the park which had been abandoned sometime back.
He promised that hotels open in the park and sanitation is taken care of hence taxi and bus business is resolved for once and for all.
