MASINDI MUNICIPAL COUNCILORS TO CENSURE MAYOR

Masindi municipal councillors are mooting plans to impeach masindi municipality mayor Ronald Businge Kyomuhendo over what they term as failure by executive committee to enforce implementation of resolutions made by the council.
The threats of the impeachment of mayor was raised by councillor representing Kikwanana waard to masindi municipality Peter Isingoma Ndabigambiranaoha during full council meeting held on 15th of November 2024 held at municipal chambers and chaired by council speaker Tadeo Opio.
Ndabi indicated that mayor together with his executive members have severally ensure that council resolutions are implemented by technical team headed by municipal town clerk Daniel Kasaka.
Ndabi cited resolutions like evicting James ventures out of municipal council property among others were not implemented but instead mayor wrote letter to minister for local government Raphael Magezi seeking his intervention on what can be done on Masindi municipal idle piece of land.
He therefore for a leave from speaker so that he can be able to craft emotion of impeachment.
Ndabi’s proposal was wad backed up by Robert Akugizibwe councillor representing Kijura to municipal council who accused mayor for having invited Raphael Magezi the minister for local government to come to inspect idle municipal piece of lands alleged with intent of selling them without the approval of the council.
Richard Alinaitwe councillor for civic ward upper says the mayor and his executive have reached to the extent of bringing minister Raphael Magezi to inspect plots of land without the consent of the council and whatever was resolved has remained unknown to the councillors.
However Ronald Kyomuhendo Businge the masindi municipal mayor described the councillors who want to impeach him as insane explaining that the minister came to masindi on a program for mindset change for PDM beneficiaries, commissioned infrastructure at health facilities and inspected house meant to accommodate town clerk and treasury as way of lobbying for money from the centres for rehabilitation.
