President Yoweri Museveni has warned Banyoro against internal conflicts, and focus on creating personal wealth for their own goals.
Museveni sounded the warning yesterday while closing one week annual national youth conference organised by Hoima Catholic diocese at st Andrea Kaawah college in Bujumbura in Hoima city.
Museveni’s warning follows the recent conflict in the Kingdom over the seat of prime minister this came after eng Fred Rucunya Mugenyi the chief prince (okwiri) of the Kingdom announced an interim kingdom cabinet led by dr Kyamanywa Kasirivu Atwooki as the new interim prime minister replacing Andrew Kurungi Byakutaga.
This decision came after an emergency meeting held by the Babiito clan which issued one week ultimatum for Byagutaga to vacate the office alleging that tenure was illegal.
The Babiito clan was dissatisfied with the royal commission decision in July to extend Byakutaga’s term by one year .
However Byakutaga vowed not to vacate his office claiming that the new interim cabinet appointed by Babiito clan is illegal.
Byakutaga asserted that only Omukama Dr Solomon Gafubusa Rukirabasaija Iguru 1 has the power to appoint or dismiss kingdom officials
Museveni also used the same chance to applaud the Catholic church for mentoring the young people on i ideology, spirituality and complementing the government efforts of fighting poverty in the country and pledged 200 million shillings to Hoima Catholic diocese youth center .
The Bishop of Hoima Catholic diocese Vincent Kirabo hailed Museveni for the support he has continuously given to the Catholic church including youth conference.
