280 KABALE GHETTO YOUTH ATTAIN INCOME GENERATING SKILLS IN 7 DAY TRAINING

State minister for trade and cooperative Hon. David Bahati doubles as the member of parliament for Ndorwa west constituency Kabale district has appealed to members of the Ghetto friendship foundation and others to use gainfully skills acquired from 7 day workshop held at Kabale main stadium.
The workshop aimed at imparting skills in making liquid and bar soap, chalk, crisps ,petroleum jelly , hair shampoo,baghiyya among other products.
Hon. Bahati in a message read for him by Byamugisha Sentaro the Kabale Municipal mayor says Uganda has the worldest youngest population with over 78% below 30 years of age and the main reason why NRM government has introduced different programs is for the youth to get involved in income generating activities.
He added that in last four years the government given out shillings 160 billion to groups across the country and through state house the government is introducing an industrial hub in every sub region in Uganda to train youth in carpentry, welding and shoe making ,weaving among others.
Masiko Taddeo the secretary for Getto friends foundation said over 280 people have gained certificate in skills and further appreciated the leadership of Kabale for supporting the training
