3 ARRESTED OVER UGX 37 M STOLEN FROM WAVE MONEY TRANSFER UGANDA EMPLOYEES

Police in Isingiro District are holding three suspects on charges of theft.
According to ASP Samson Kasasira the Rwizi police mouthpiece the three suspects are Nkurunziza Kutesa Joram, Bashir Bukenya, and Kakungulu Hassan Mulangira.
Kasasira said that the three suspects traveling in a motor vehicle registration number UBK 535T Toyota Mark-X on Friday, 11th.Nov,2022 intercepted Wave Money Transfer Uganda Employees at Nshungyezi along Isingiro-Kikagate road, paper sprayed them in the eyes before they made off with Shs.37million.
Kasasira added that the victims were in transit to distribute the float to their agents.
He said the incident was then reported by wave money transfer Uganda at Kikagate police station on Friday at around 10:20am and later a combined team of police detectives in Rwizi region intercepted the robbers at Kabobo Trading Centre along Isingiro -Kitwe Ntungamo road recovering part of the stolen money amounting to Shs. 13,473,500 and a forged registration number plate UBJ 175C which was in the motor vehicle of the assailants.
He added that in the process to pursue the robbers one of them identified as Denis Twinamatsiko managed to flee the scene though efforts to have him apprehended are underway.
