3 FAMILY MEMBERS DIE IN MASINDI AFTER DROWNING IN 5-6 METER TRENCH.

3 family members in Masindi district have died after drowning in 5-6-meter-deep trench along Masindi-Biiso road currently under construction.

They include Grace Abwongi 30 years, her daughter Lillian Ikoru 12, and son Muzamil Arinaitwe 2 years.

he incident happened when Abwongi and her daughter move to fetch water from 5-6-meter-deep trench along Masindi Biiso road currently under construction in Nyabigoma village, Karongo parish Budongo sub county, Masindi district on 12th October 2024 at around 7:00pm.

According to Abwongi’s Husband Yasin Kitasoboka, he initially thought his family had gone for prayers depending on his wife’s devout nature.

However, when he went to fetch water from the same trench yesterday Sunday 13th October 2024, he discovered their bodies floating on the same trench prompting him to inform the local leaders who then alerted the police.

SP Hakiza Julius Allan Police mouthpiece Albertine region confirmed the incident saying investigation into the matter is going on to determine the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.
