In Buliisa—-
Over three people were Wednesday arrested on allegations of siphoning fuel in Buliisa district.
The suspects who were not disclosed to our reporter not to jeopardize investigations were found with 32 Jerricans of fuel.
It’s alleged that the suspects siphoned the fuel from vehicles of either STC or CICO road construction companies working on Masindi – Biiso road and Hoima – Wanseko road.
The security operation led by the District Police Commander (DPC) and the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Wednesday surrounded the family of Chrispus Agaba a resident of Garasoya village Kihungya Sub Country Buliisa District, for allegedly siphoning fuel.
The John Chrysistom Mwaule the DPC told www.mknewslink.com reporter that the operation was organized following a tip from the whistle blowers who informed Police.
Mwaule added that the deployment was done last night but the suspect fled with his wife because security didn’t recognize his identity, saying they managed to arrest workers and impounded thirty two jerry cans of fuel.
‘’We suspect the fuel to have been siphoned from either STC or CICO road construction companies who have reported rampant fuel loss,’’ he noted.
The DPC said once the prime suspect is arrested, he will be produced in courts of law with evidence of the ownership of the fuel or else be taken to prison.
Longino Bahebwa Byagagaire the RDC Buliisa warned residents who are involved in such acts adding that they will be arrested and prosecuted in courts of law because they are sabotaging government programs.
