3 ROBBERY SUSPECTS HELD IN NTUNGAMO

Police in Ntungamo District is holding three Robbery suspects for allegedly stealing money amounting to shillings 10 million.
The Suspects have been identified by police as Bukenya Ali, Oringa Luku and Ssozi Ian.
It’s alleged that on 22.july.2022,at around 10:00AM , Nyesiga Bosco a businessman in Ntungamo withdrew shillings 10million from Centenary Bank Ntungamo branch.
He was being trailed and monitored by unknown people who were moving in a Toyota Wish car registration number UBK 880T that followed him up to Rubaare where he made a stop over.
Its then that the Suspects got a chance to steal the cash from his car.
After the incident, communication was made to Flying squad of Rwizi Region and other departments who also communicated to the neighboring districts and by the help of Closed circuit cameras, the motor vehicle of the Suspects was sighted at Katunguru heading to Kasese which prompted police officers at Hima police station to intercept it.
After the arrest of the trio, a search was conducted and the exhibits of cash Worth shs.3,517,000 , car breaking equipment were recovered and Motor vehicle registration number UBK880T was impounded.
A team of Rwizi Region flying squad later interrogated the Suspects who confessed to have stolen the money before they were transferred to Ntungamo police station for further investigations.
A case of cash Theft has been registered at Rubaare police station under SD .ref.14/22/07/2022.
