32-YEAR-OLD MAN BURNT TO DEATH IN MITOOMA

Police in Mitooma are hunting for 8 suspects who allegedly beat and burnt to death a 32-year-old man on accusations of matooke theft.
The 8 suspects are identified as Namara Geresum, Nuwagaba Wilber, Kyomugisha Miriam, Tumuhimbitse Dimyano, one Peron and three others known by their appearances all residents of Ryengyerero C, Ryengyerero parish, Ruhere subcounty, Mitooma district.
It’s alleged that on the 12/03/2023 at around 11:30 Pm, the suspects found the deceased Hannington Turyasingura stealing a bunch of matooke from the garden of Namara Geresum and assaulted him before burning him using a plastic jerican.
Martial Tumusiime the greater Bushenyi police spokesperson confirmed the incident adding that police are yet to arrest any of the suspects.
He added that exhibits of broken sticks and partially burnt yellow plastic jerrycan were recovered from the scene of crime.
According to Tumusiime, postmortem indicate that the deceased died as a result of massive right haemothorax consistent with the traumatic rapture of intrathoracic vessels.
