35 YEAR OLD WOMAN TO SIT FOR P.L.E IN FORT PORTAL

A 35 year old woman in Fort Portal is set to seat for the primary leaving examination slated tomorrow.
Maureen Kyobutungi a resident of South Division, Fort
portal municipality in Kabarole district currently studying at St. Peters and
Paul Viraka is among the candidates that are going to sit for the Primary
Leaving Examinations.
Single mother Maureen has three children and the first born is in S.4, second
born in S.2 and last born in Primary three.
According to her, she was forced to go back to school last year in primary six
after facing a lot of challenges at her place of work where her workmates used
to laugh at her that she is illiterate.
She narrates that sometimes she could find it
difficult to speak to fellow workmates because they use English which she
doesn’t understand.
Maureen is the executive director of Kabarole Women Health Support Initiative
[KWHSI] which is supported by Baylor Uganda for mobilization of all single
mothers and sensitizing sexual
workers on how to protect themselves from HIV/AIDS.

reporter, she noted that going back to school is going to help her to speak English,
upgrade to other levels of education and profession plus other various benefits.
She also added that she is expecting 1st grade results if God is willing.
As a single mother, Maureen faces many challenges including paying school fees for her children, rent among others.
Mrs. Kabasita Mugisa the St. Peters and Paul Viraka School head teacher asserted that Maureen is among the best students she has hence expecting her to pass with flying colors.
She encouraged other interested old people to come back to school thus they should not shy away.
148 candidates were registered for 2019-2020 primary
leaving examination and 12 are children with
disabilities.
5629 candidates are going to seat for P.L.E in Kabarole district on Monday.
