NRM KABALE WOMAN MP TO OPPOSE AGE LIMIT BILL

The Kabale district woman Member of Parliament Hon Catherine Atwakire
Ndamira has vowed to oppose the lifting of presidential age limit for
the constitution.

On Thursday evening Igara West Member of Parliament Raphael Magyezi
tabled the controversial bill seeking to lift the presidential 102b
age cap in the Constitution.

However, the bill was read on Tuesday for the first time in parliament
before a one-sided parliament after the opposition MPS boycotted the
three parliamentary sittings in solidarity of their 25 suspended
colleagues.

In an interview with www.mknewslink.com reporter, Atwakire says that the she will do
what it takes to oppose the bill since it is promoting life
presidency.

She also told our reporter that the wide consultative meetings she has
held with her constituents, have warned her not to support it since it
promotes only President Yoweri Museveni.

She also says that she will not be intimidated by threats being raised
by government agencies by attacking their home of residents with
grenades.

Recently grenade attacks were heard on house Allan Ssewanyana Makindye
West MP, Robert Kyagulanyi Kyaddondo East MP, and Moses Kasibante
Rubaga North MP.

Atwakire also noted that it would paramount if speaker drops the bill
since it has created insecurity in the country
