4 NRM REGISTRARS SACKED IN KANUNGU DISTRICT

Kanungu district National Resistance Movement registrar Alex Turyahikayo has sacked 4 sub- county registrars accusing them of embezzling village youth allowances, delaying electioneering materials to reach polling stations, delaying results to reach the tally center among others.
The four were sacked today after a meeting between them and the district party officials that took place at the party offices in Kanungu town council Kanungu district.
The sacked are Robert Magara, registrar Butogota town council, Medred Tushabomise, registrar Rugyeyo sub- County, Constance Tukahirwa, registrar Kambuga sub- County and Morren Arineitwe, registrar Kihihi town council.
Turyahikayo told our reporter that the sacked sub- county Registrars committed these offences during the National Resistance Movement primary elections that were held on 5th of this month for electing Member of Parliament party flag bearers and Youth representatives for Kanungu district.
Turyahikayo said that one, Robert Magara embezzled Ugx 1.5 m that was meant to be given to youth Committees at village levels in the whole of Butogota town council.
Alex said the NRM party constitutions gives him authority to sack any party official who acts centrally to the constitution adding that the sacked were immediately replaced to allow the process of voting for LCV chairpersons and sub- councilors continue.
Robert Magara, one of the sacked registrars told our reporter that he was not paid money for this job saying that he has already handed over the office to new registrar.
