4 UNDER INTERROGATION IN KABALE FOR THE RAPE, MURDER OF 13 YEAR OLD GIRL

The territorial police of Kabale have is holding in detention four suspects who allegedly gang-raped to death a 13 years old girl.

ASP. Elly Maate the Kigezi Region police spokesperson identified the deceased as Glorious Akampurira Owembabazi a resident of Kyarugondo village Kasheregyenyi parish, Kamuganguzi sub county in Kabale district who died moments after the incident.

Maate said that the suspects in custody now are Davis Akankwasa Kehoda, Allan Akanyijuka, Sendarera Moses and, Norman Ahumuza Kanuma all of Kasheregyenyi parish Kamuganguzi sub county.

Maate told journalists that information was received by SP Ruganza Abel, the DPC Kabale from the lc3 chairperson of Kamuganguzi sub county Mr. Twesigomwe Elias that there is unidentified girl who had been raped and was unconscious being taken to Kabale regional referral hospital.

The incident happened on the 25th December 2022 at around 8:00pm at Nyakasharara trading center, Kyarugondo village, Kasheregyenyi parish, Kamuganguzi sub county in kabale district.

The DPC and the team went on ground and effected one arrest of Davis.

Information from the lc3 chairperson Kamuganguzi sub county, was later received that the victim was pronounced dead on arrival at Kabale regional referral hospital.
