45 VEHICLES IMPOUNDED IN MBARARA FOR OPERATING PAST CURFEW

Police in Mbarara on Saturday night impounded 45 motor vehicles that were traveling beyond 09:00Pm hence flouting the presidential directives of curfew time.
According to Rwizi police spokesperson ASP Samson Kasasira, the motor vehicles were intercepted at different check points mounted by police on the roads leading in and out of Mbarara city that is along Mbarara-Masaka highway, Buremba road, Mbarara-Kabale road.
This operation was guided by the Mbarara district COVID 19 task force due to increased laxity by the members of public as far as curfew time is concerned.
Kasasira said that so far, no arrests have been made despite the fact that the 45 motor vehicles are still in the hands of police at Mbarara central police station awaiting the Mbarara COVID 19 task force to give a way forward on the matter.
