5 ARRESTED FOR KILLING TWO GOAT THIEVES IN RUBANDA

Police in Rubanda district are holding five suspects for allegedly murdering two goat thieves.
The deceased have been identified as Tom Tumwesigye and Gracious Arinda both of Rwere cell.
According to Obed Kitabutuka the area district councilor, the two were lynched by residents of Rwere cell Muyanje parish Bubare sub county Rubanda district on 15/11/2020 at around 10:00 hours at Rwere trading centre.
He said that they were lynched to death for allegedly stealing two goats and other property of Serediana Nyamitwe 78 yrs of Rusukizi village Muyanje parish.
It’s said that the goats were later sold to Gidion Nuwamanya alias Kagidi of Kirwa cell Northern division Kabale municipality.
Kigezi region police spokes person Elly Matte told www.mknewslink.com that police visited the scene, carried out postmortem.
He added that James Kabagambe, Ivan Nkwasizehi , Isaac Byamukama , Alex Nuwareba and George Tukundane all from Rwere cell were arrested to help in investigations since it is alleged that they were part of the mob.
