5 PERISH IN ROAD ACCIDENT

Police in Kasese District have reported five separate abrupt deaths occurring within a single day.
This information was disclosed by SP Nelson Tumushime, the Rwenzori East Region police spokesperson.
According to Tumushime, the fatalities resulted from two separate traffic accidents, as well as incidents involving water.
In one of the traffic accidents, a motorist lost control of his vehicle while carrying a passenger, resulting into the death of Mr. Johnson Mbusa, the passenger, at the scene.
The motorcyclist, identified as Musilam, was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at Mt. St. Mary’s Hospital.
The second accident occurred in Nyabugando, where a motorcycle with registration number UFL 292D collided with an Actros trailer registered as RAE 489R.
A minor riding on the motorcycle was killed instantly, while the rider fled the scene. Nzobinimba, the driver of the trailer, is currently in custody at Bwera Police Division.
Additionally, Tumushime reported that a 35-year-old man named Bwambale was killed by a crocodile while allegedly engaging in illegal fishing on Lake Edward in Katwe Kabatoro Town Council.
Furthermore, a yet-to-be-identified male body was retrieved from River Nyamwamba in Nyamwamba Division, Kasese Municipality.
The body has been transported to Kasese Municipal Council HCIV, where it is pending a postmortem examination.
