59 REFUGEES TEST POSITIVE FOR COVID 19 IN KISORO

Kisoro district has registered 59 COVID -19 cases among the refugees from Democratic republic of Congo at Nyakabande Transit center
According to Haji Shafiq Sekandi Sengooba, the Resident district commissioner Kisoro by end of yesterday, 88 COVID-19 tests were conducted and 03 refugees tested positive.
Sengooba said that the cumulative number of tests for the new arrivals and positive cases since the 28thof March 2022 are 29,851 and 567 respectively.
Sengooba adds that currently, the total population at the holding area and Transit center is 17,764 individuals among which 2177 are at the transit Center and 15,587 are at the holding center.
He also revealed that 214 refugees yesterday entered Uganda through Bunagana one-stop border and were received at Nyakabande Transit Centre.
He also noted that the cumulative number of refugees manually registered since 28th March 2022 is 38,949 individuals from 19,943 Households.
