6 ARRESTED OVER FORGED PAPERS DURING UPDF RECRUITMENT EXERCISE IN MBARARA

Six people have been arrested by the Uganda People’s Defense Forces recruitment unit for allegedly forging papers.
Brig .Gen. Deus Sande the head of recruitment exercise Ankole Region identified the suspects as Daniel Okello from Kampala, John Okello of Soroti District , James Wahatara from Mbale District, Alicha Martin from Arua, Deogracious Atuyaambe from Buhweju District and Charles Awunyo from Ngola District.
Brig. Gen. Sande told this reporter that the suspects slept in hotels around Mbarara city and in the morning they sneaked into Kakyeka stadium for the recruitment exercise with forged letters of chairpersons local Council one and forged academic papers.
He added that the suspects have been handed over to the Mbarara Central Police station on charges of forgery.
In his defense Daniel Okello one of the Suspects said he was not able to make it through the recruitment exercise in Kampala and decided to try his luck in Mbarara and he claimed he had all the needed papers.
Relatedly, the recruitment exercise which started yesterday (Tuesday) with greater Mbarara and Isingiro Districts at Kakyeka stadium is expected to end on July 2nd,2022 and according to Brig.Gen.Sande they expect to recruit 200 recruits from Ankole Region.
