7 MORE MBARARA SCHOOLS CLOSE AFTER OWNERS RUN BANKRUPT

7 more primary schools in Mbarara district have closed over exorbitant bank loans.
Gabriel Ahimbisibwe the Mbarara District Education Officer identified the schools as Kashaka Moslem primary school,Ruyonza primary school ,Bukiro community primary school,Rubaya Standard primary school, Bubaare parents primary school, Bukiro Destiny primary school and Bwizibwera standard primary school all private schools.
Ahimbisibwe said that the proprietors of the mentioned schools ran bankrupt and others had loans to clear in banks while others failed to pay teachers arrears.
He however added that they have advised the parents of the affected learners to enroll them in the available government Schools.
The DEO further noted that all the Government schools are all operational and the turn up of the learners is high especially in the lower primary.
On the issue of COVID 19 , Ahimbisibwe noted that they are still finding it hard to follow COVID 19 SOPs like social distance given the huge number of learners
Relatedly, the educationist said that they will root for a supplementary budget to cater for schools that were hit hard by Environmental catastrophes like Rubindi girls where wind blew off the roof and Rwansinga Primary school.
He said that they will construct two class room blocks for the affected Schools.
