71 YEAR OLD MBARARA MAN KILLS WIFE,COMMITS SUICIDE

Shock yesterday morning engulfed the residents of Katanda 11 cell in kicwamba Ward Nyakayojo division Mbarara Municipality when they discovered that a 71 year old man murdered his 62 year old woman in cold blood, before he committed suicide.
Domiano kasaana is alleged to have used a machete in the wee hours of thewednesday morning at around 1:00am to chop his wife into pieces.
According to LCI chairperson katanda II James Kajungu, the two had a long standing miss-understanding on land related matters, suspecting it could have been the root cause of the incident.
Kajungu said that, Kasaana had decided to sell part of the land to raise money for medication, but was blocked by his wife kyomuhangi.
He noted that such related murder cases have become rampant in the area, calling up the public to always visit the relevant authorities for assistance
Police from Mbarara rushed to the scene and compiled a report, before allowing the family members to start burial arrangements.
Police said investigations into the incident are underway.
