FORMER MINISTER BANYENZAKI WARNS RUBANDA RESIDENTS AGAINST SUBSISTENCE FARMING

The former Minister of State for Economic Monitoring Henry Banyenzaki has appealed to the general public to embrace commercial farming, as a way to eradicate famine and poverty in the Country.
Speaking as the chief guest at a function to give a sacrament to Kiyembe Catholic church center of Rubanda parish Banyenzaki said that people have entirely embraced subsistence farming for only food production where there is little or none left for sale; a habit he noted still intensifies famine in the country.
Speaking at same function, the Rubanda District Woman Member of Parliament Ms Prossy Akampurira Begumisa implored parents to closely monitor their children at schools to ensure that they do not join the bad peer groups.
Akampurira observed that several children from the region join the wrong company during schooling thus develop bad traits. She added that most of the children are tricky when they return back home for holidays, they pretend as if they are disciplined yet they are indisciplined at schools.
Preaching during the mass, the Head of Liturgy in Kabale Diocese also the Dean of Rubanda Deanery Rev Fr Vian Byaruhanga who represented the Bishop Calistus Rubaramira advised the Christians to always make good choice of their wellbeing saying that most Christians have bad attitude to themselves thinking that they will never get rich.
At the same function, a total of over 8 million were contributed towards renovating Kiyebe Catholic church and the function was attended by the Rubanda.
