TREASON CASE AGAINST BOBI WINE ADJOURNED TO JANUARY

Mityana municipality Member of Parliament (MP), Francis Zaake has today morning reported to the Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) in Kibuli after having failed to show up last week.
The legislator was summoned for interrogations on the counts of treason and escaping from lawful custody. These charges were as a result of the Arua by-election violence.
MP Zaake said that he did not show up the first time because he was unwell.
Mean while court in Gulu has adjourned the case in which Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi wine and 34 others are charged with treason to January 10, 2019.
Bobi Wine,Arua Municipality MP Kassiano Wadri and 26 others on Monday appeared before thecourtpresided over by Isaac Imoran Kintu for mention of their case.
However,Prosecutionled by Paul Weponde said they are not ready to proceed with the case because police have not yet provided evidence that is key to investigating the case. He then requested for adjournment.
However defence lawyer, Mr Henry Komakech Kilama noted that persons are incurring high travelexpensesfrom Kampala and Arua to attend the trial and askedcourtto compel the state toexpediteinvestigations.
In response Magistrate Kintu tasked theprosecutionteam to speed up their investigation.
He then adjourned the case till January 10, 2019.
