STORM DESTROYS PRIMARY SCHOOL IN NTUNGAMO

Heavy storm has blown off Butare primary school roof in Ntungamo district.
The storm destroyed many school property including classroom desks and end term three examination papers which were being marked by the teachers during lunch hours in one of the class rooms
Two of the teachers identified as Nuwasima Charity and Kyokunda Enid were hit by the falling debris as they made attempts to move out of the class room.They were rushed to Butare health centre three for medical treatment.
Kyorayende Eva the school headmistress says the affected school block consists of six classrooms, a Library and store as well.
Bishop Nathan Ahimbisibwe directed the schools authority to immediately re-arrange other exams for the pupils to avoid affecting their academic year.
He also urged government to phase out old structures still existing at church or Muslim founded schools because they are putting learners lives at risk.
Kalemera Jackson one of the parents appealed to government to help them and reconstruct the affected school block because parents do not have the required money.
