NAMIREMBE PARENTS SCHOOL BOSSES ARRESTED, CHARGED OVER ILLEGAL DETENTION OF PUPIL FOR FAILURE TO PAY FEES

The Director of Namirembe parents mixed day and boarding Primary school Patricia Kazibwe and the former school headmaster Moses Kanaabi were yesterday arrested and charged in court with illegal detention of a pupil.
It is alleged that the pupil a juvenile then 13 years was imprisoned on the orders of the two from 3rd to 7th November 2016 over un paid school fees balance of sh 285000. Prosecution told court that the father of the pupil pleaded with Kanaabi and Kazibwe but all fell on the deaf ear until 7th Nov.2018 when the press broke a story on the arrest of the pupil which forced the school to drop the kid at the fathers home in Nsangi Wakiso district
Appearing before Mwanga Two grade one magistrate Sarah Tusime the two accused denied the charges.
They were later given bond after presenting three sureties each.
The two were arrested after the office of the DPP directed that they be charged saying there is enough evidence to charge them for illegal detention.
