POLICE OFFICER, 7 OTHERS REMANDED OVER THEFT IN KISORO

The Kisoro grade one magistrate Court remanded eight people to Kisoro government prison on Friday afternoon accused of aggravated theft and burglary.
The suspects are; Beyata Nyirarukundo a wife to Charles Nkikabahizi, a resident of Mugwata Village, Gisozi in Muramba Sub County who is the complainant, their two sons Robert Mugabe 28 and Moses Tumushime 17, their daughter Jackline Mbabazi 19, their herdsman only identified as Ndatimana, Elly Ndugutse 23 a BodaBoda rider at kibugu stage a resident of Mugwata village Gisozi parish, Bosco Kayumba, 34 a special hire driver of Premio Silver registration number UAR 619X in Kisoro town, Bonivencha Niyomubyeyi aged 26 a mobile money operator in Kisoro town a resident of Mikingo Village Kisoro Municipality and Gerald Lwembo, a police officer No.59903 attached to Kisoro police station.
These appeared before Kisoro grade one magistrate Court that was presided over by his worship Raphael Vueni, after they were arrested for allegedly broking into the shop of clothes of Charles Nkyikabahizi, a resident of Mugwata village in Gisozi parish, Muramba Sub County Kisoro district and took off with money totaling to sixteen million shillings.
The incident happened on 10th May 2019 at night, along the main Street in town Kisoro municipality.
However when the case was read to the suspects, Beyata Nyirarukundo a wife to the complainant and their herdsman Ndatimana admitted the charges while the other six suspects denied.
His worship Vueni remanded the suspects until 10th June 2019, for further hearing.
