WOMAN MP BUSHENYI STARTS REUSABLE SANITARY PADS FACTORY FOR GIRLS

Minister for general duties in the office of the Prime Minister Can. Mary Karooro has reechoed her commitment to establish a factory that will manufacture reusable sanitary pads for girls.
She said that the factory which will be constructed in Nyakabirizi division, Bushenyi-Ishaka municipality will help girls get reusable pads at a cheaper price.
Can. Okurutu also noted that most girls drop out of school because they cannot afford to buy pads and those still schooling find it rough during their menstrual periods adding that with this initiative, girls will be able to get affordable pads.
Karooro revealed that in a strategy to fight malnutrition in Bushenyi, she is also going to start a factory to make nutritious food stuffs.
She said this yesterday 21st June 2019 during the celebrations to mark the belated women’s day held at Mungonya Secondary school playground in Kyeizoba Sub County under the Theme:”Empowering women through innovative approaches to social protection; the requisite for inclusive and sustainable development”.
