BUSHENYI POLICE CAPTURE FOUR SUSPECTED BODA BODA THIEVES

Police in Bushenyi district are detaining four members of a notorious gang that robs boda boda motorcycles.

The arrested are Christopher Benywanira alias Brown Mark (29), a resident of Kiruhura district, Ssenyonjo Mike alias Rubuto (35), a resident of Mateete in Ssembabule district, Jordan Amutuhaire (27), Lyantonde and Matovu Abas (28), a boda boda rider in Makindye-Kampala.

Sp Martial Tumusiime, the police spokesperson for greater Bushenyi said that the suspects were arrested in an operation against boda boda theft that was made by Sheema district police detectives on 19^th and 20^th July in Masaka and Lyantonde districts respectively.

He added that they got information from prisoners in Nyamushenkyera and Kyamugorani government prisons respectively that the suspects have been killing boda boda riders and selling their stolen motorcycles as used ones.

The suspects are currently detained at Bushenyi central police station as investigations continue.
