The Electoral Commissioner (EC) boss Simon Byabakama has advised the woman that was beaten by Hoima RDC Richard Tabaaro during the by-election to drag him to court.
Simon said this today 2nd Oct 2019 while giving report on Hoima By-Election at the EC Headquarters in Kampala.
He said that no government official is above the law to violent any citizen’s rights saying that she should go and sue him.
“We have seen many government officials being taken to court for assaulting Ugandans,” Simon said.
Tabaaro was last week captured on video seriously beating up a woman known as Elizabeth Katungi with a cane accusing her of being violent.
In a video that went viral on internet Mr. Tabaro was involved in a verbal exchange and later physical fight with a woman as an armed UPDF soldier tried to restrain them.
